Date 1 This Week

Yesterday I met a local man for a change. I was early and he called to say he would be late due to traffic. He called as he was pulling into the lot, looking for directions to the new wine sipping bar in which I was waiting. I told him I could see his car, and he apologized for having a dirty car. He said he was taking off his grubby jacket and he left it in the dirty car.........He was cleaner and better groomed than my last three dates, but again, his oral hygiene left a lot to be desired. Men in this area have the worst teeth I have ever seen, and these dates have the financial means to improve them.......He did not have any physical disabilities that were obvious, and he was able to hear me without hearing aids. ......He was pleasant to talk with; he openly discussed his recently deceased wife of 6 months and his grieving spells.......He also discussed a woman out of state with whom he recently spent a week, who he believes has too many physical problems to be a good match for him. "I just went through that with my wife, and I can't do that again". Problem is he has not told her this, and he has made plans to meet her again for another week on vacation......In spite of all this, he would like to take me for a sail on his very beautiful 36ft Catalina boat. He told me I could invite a friend to go with me, which is very generous of him, so I told him I would do that....I do not anticipate a romance with this man, but he is very pleasant and has an interesting social life.
