New Date 3 This Week

Today a retired attorney who has some money drove from Edmonds to Gig Harbor to meet me at the TIDES TAVERN.  He is one of the oldest men I have met, but since he was only two years older than me, I was hoping he was OK......His hearing and speaking was OK, but he seemed very slow in his speech at times.  Other times he was faster, so I am not sure what happened with that......He told me he has macular degeneration in one eye which causes some problems for him....He did not tell me during lunch that he becomes winded upon any slight uphill exertion but I found out about that later......He talked at length about a woman he wanted as a friend but who kept telling him to find someone else.  He did not appear to comprehend that she did not want him in her life.  He complained because she told him she would not "smooch" with him....He has no outside activities in his life.  He stays home does oil painting and makes tiles.  He does not belong to any groups, organizations or do any charity work.  He does not have any more friends, "they all aged and drifted away"..... He does not own a boat or RV and does not have any social life except for this new attempt to meet women at MATCH......He picks at his skin constantly, which is very ugly during lunch.  He picked a bloody scab off his forehead twice during lunch, even after I told him the first time that it was very gross to see him do that........He accused me of nagging him when I offered him sun block for riding in the Miata with the top down, and he refused my offer to stop by his car to get his hat to cover his bald head......He was barely able to get up the hill out of the TIDES TAVERN, and was puffing so badly I asked  if he was OK.  In Tacoma we walked between the Glass Museum across to Union Station but he was so winded I asked if he wanted to stay there while I went to get the car for him.  He said yes, he was not able to make it on foot....... We had a long discussion regarding the necessity for exercise but he was not interested in that.  He was aware "if he didn't use it he would lose it" but doesn't care.  I finally concluded that this is one depressed man, who barely has any redeeming social value ( definition of an obscenity ).  He may be rich but all the money in the world could not bring me to have a relationship with him.............
