Date 3 this week
Today's date, the gentleman renting an apartment in an expensive area in Seattle, was late in meeting me. I experienced some relief when I saw him walk in because there was another gentleman who looked a little bit like my date sitting at the bar. The man at the bar was quite UNattractive and was leering at me......My date was not too bad looking, but again it did not appear that he took any special pains to upgrade his appearance to meet me. He had on a faded & stretched black long sleeve jersey top covered by a scroungy vest...........He was the one date this week that did not have an obvious physical disability but that soon changed when he immediately told me he had a severe hearing loss. Sure enough he had two hearing aides; I spent the remainder of the date taking deliberate measures to be sure he could hear me, repeating myself frequently. Have you ever tried to whisper sweet nothings into a deaf ear; it ruins the entire mood and then some......I have often said that this restaurant weeds out most of my disabled dates because of the steep hill leading in and out, and because of the very poor acoustics which amplifies every noise and clatter in the place........This was the 3rd date this week who had teeth I would not consider kissable. Just as a man can tell within a few minutes if the woman he meets is one he wants to date, I can tell when a man opens his mouth to smile or talk whether or not this would be a mouth I would want to kiss. ..... This man was not very exciting. He talked about grieving the loss of his son last year. He talked about his enjoying meditation, and playing golf. He enjoys walking in Seattle and along the water, and enjoys living there. He did not talk about any hobbies or anything fun.....I cannot picture myself having a relationship with him.......I suspect I need someone that is a little outrageous, who is unpredictable and does not always conform to convention........
